Katie Gurbutt from Honywood Community Science School in Coggeshall was the latest student to visit Masterframe as part of her Work Experience programme last week.
Katie’s favourite subject is Biology and as a wildlife enthusiast she is a volunteer at the Wildlives Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation centre in Colchester. Here Katie enjoys taking care of the wild life that has been brought in for rehabilitation before being returned to the wild. Once Katie has completed her college education she hopes to pursue a career as a Vet or to be actively involved in animal care.
According to Carol Slade, Managing Director for Masterframe “We welcome the opportunity to provide young students with a structured week of work experience where they have the opportunity to integrate into each department to gain exposure to the different facets of a typical business. We believe it is important that young people have this exposure to enable them to make informed decisions later on when choosing a career path. We have found Katie to be very polite and helpful; willing to take on any task assigned to her and her assistance has been very much appreciated.”
Katie had this to say about her experience at Masterframe “I have enjoyed working at Masterframe and seeing how a successful business is run in contrast to my other activities at the charity which are more physical by nature. It is interesting to see how teams operate and the processes that are in place to run the business efficiently.”
The Masterframe team wish Katie every success with her future.
