Scottish Window Solutions – Bygone Symphony
“I am absolutely thrilled with my new double-glazed windows. The build quality is exceptional, and they feel incredibly solid and well-made. The design and finish is stunning, so authentic that you’d never guess they’re not actual wooden frames. Not only do they enhance the aesthetic of my home, but they also provide a noticeable improvement in insulation and noise reduction.”
Bygone Symphony Collection Sash Windows Provide Durability, Energy Efficiency, and Minimal Maintenance
The background
When our Master Installer, Scottish Window Solutions, was approached by a customer wanting to replace their aging wooden sash windows, the customer had specific requirements due to the exposed nature of their location. Given the challenges posed by the Scottish weather and the proximity to the Firth of Clyde in Western Scotland, they desired sash windows that closely resembled the original wooden frames. Additionally, they needed windows that were durable, energy-efficient, and required minimal maintenance while still preserving the traditional aesthetic of their period home.
The solution
After discussing our options with John Samuels, the Development Manager at Bygone, Scottish Window Solutions gave their customer a strong recommendation for the Bygone Symphony sash windows. These windows feature an exclusive 39mm GRP meeting rail, patented Timberweld® joints, and energy-efficient 18mm Krypton-filled double glazing.
One of the most significant advantages of Bygone Symphony windows is their low maintenance requirements—only basic cleaning is needed. They are rated A for energy efficiency, with a U-value of 1.4, and boast a class 3 rating for air permeability, enduring pressures of up to 600 pascals.
The Bygone Collection Guarantee
Sash windows for modern homes
As sustainability concerns and rising costs impact households everywhere, finding ways to conserve energy and improve efficiency has become increasingly crucial. Homeowners are seeking solutions to future-proof their properties while preserving the unique charm of traditional aesthetics.
Bygone Symphony sash windows offer an ideal solution. They encompass all the classic features of traditional timber sash windows, including elegantly slim sightlines, traditional run-through horns, and a wood grain foil that replicates the texture of real timber. Furthermore, they utilise patented Timberweld® technology for a seamless, butt-jointed finish. These beautifully designed and highly engineered windows capture the authentic beauty of wood while providing modern energy efficiency.
“This project was a joy to work on, assisting in the sympathetic restoration worthy of its surroundings.”
