Guildford high school is an attractive victorian building that had a specific requirement for replacement sash windows…
A square frame internally, but arched outside… An arched infill wasn’t going to work.
Suffice to say, the school were delighted with the results; modern low-maintenance sash windows, with no annual painting costs, that go unnoticed on this prestigious school facade.
Guildford School gets a bespoke Sash Window Solution
Guildford High School is an attractive Victorian building. the original sash windows had square frame internally and an arched appearance externally. Whilst some may offer an arched infill it was clear from the outset that this wasn’t going to create the desired effect. It would leave a step back from the brickwork, which was inappropriate for this installation.
Unique London Sash Window
Bygone’s Technical Director, Ray Rabett, came up with a creative solution to resolve this problem. He prepared a prototype of a sculpted, curved trim, which was then added to the existing square outer frame. This made a perfect replacement that won over the planners and school governors.
Suffice to say, the school were delighted with the results; modern low-maintenance sash windows, with no annual painting costs, that go unnoticed on this prestigious school facade.
This process has been subsequently improved yet again and is now available as “The London Sash”, a unique additional option for creating an amazing window that is unsurpassed by any other PVC-U manufacturer.
