WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT ACCREDITATIONS MEAN?
When you’re looking to make improvements to your home, whether you’re searching for new furniture or investing in new windows, it’s essential that you choose a product you can trust. Unfortunately, there a worrying amount of rogue traders around and it’s difficult to know who you can trust. There are a number of accreditations that will give you a better idea of the most trustworthy companies around; however, here at Bygone we understand how frustrating it can be to decipher what these accreditations actually mean! We’ve put together a quick guide to help you out:
BRITISH BOARD OF AGRÉMENT (BBA)
The BBA is a UK authority providing approval to manufacturers and installers offering services to the construction industry. A BBA accreditation ensures that the claims made by manufacturers are warranted and that their products comply with regulations and meet expectations.
To ensure that products meet the highest standards, you should always look for BBA approval combined with an ISO 9001 accreditation. Here at Bygone, we have both a BBA and an ISO 9001 accreditation.
SECURED BY DESIGN
This programme was set up to encourage crime prevention as windows play a significant role in home security. The Secured By Design accreditation means you can rest assured that your windows have been independently tested and declared secure. Here at Bygone our sash windows have passed the British Standard 7950 as well as being Secured By Design approved.
GGF
As the largest trade association in the glass industry, knowing that a company is a GGF member, you can sleep safe in the knowledge that your money will be protected and you will receive a quality service. GGF will only accept companies who are secure financially and as they run their own deposit insurance scheme your deposits are as safe as possible. Here at Bygone we are proud to be members of GGF.
If you’re looking for a trustworthy company to provide high quality windows for your home, here at Bygone, we should be your first port of call. Why not visit our website for more information or contact us directly?
